Let's Get Relle

Refreshed Renewed Rejuvenated

Good morning you guys! I hope you all are beginning your day on a positive note because I have a little inspiration to sprinkle over your day. Beware, this may or may not be long, but with animation added of course! So, why did I title this post “Refreshed  Renewed Rejuvenated”? Well, you will have to read further in order to find that out.

As I’ve been taking a much needed hiatus from my blog intentionally and unintentionally, I’ve also had A LOT of time to think. There have been so many thoughts running rampant in my mind that it consumed my time. When I went M.I.A, that was the moment when I realized it started getting a little out of hand.

But, have you ever really thought about how intricate the mind is? The fact that you can get lost into a daydream, a pain from the past, even a fear of yours?

Seriously, everything I did had to be perfect in my eyes. If an idea or topic wasn’t up to par for my standards, I refused to go forward with it. On top of that, I allowed a lot of fear to creep in. I mean, as much as I would preach and encourage people to never let fear take refuge in their mind, my mind was in a battle of fear itself. It was so crazy. I was emotional, angry because I felt like everything was going wrong and I questioned God. Now don’t go rolling crazy on me and respond “Oh my goodness, she has no right questioning God”. I mean ask yourself this…

“When my back is against the wall and my life is falling apart conveniently day after day, how would I react”?

I think you may have a question or ten. You know..

In my case, i tossed and turned night after night. I would wake up sleepless the next morning simply because I couldn’t watch the back of my eyelids. In fact I was staring at a white ceiling, laying flat on my back and sighing out of frustration in the wee hours of the morning. It was killer man. Although in the natural I was focused on my emotions, I lost sight of my spiritual relationship and walk. I didn’t fall by the wayside but I did fall prey to  my circumstances which hindered my cycle of thinking clearly.

My battle was like a pendulum. The moment one of my marbles went a different direction, I just allowed myself to keep going that same direction even if it was the road I shouldn’t cross. But hello, NEWS FLASH!

View of People in KitchenTrying to be perfect is IMPOSSIBLE!

Which leads me to my main reason for writing this. My blog was about to get shut down. Not by anyone else, but by me. I wanted to quit so bad. My laptop wasn’t working in my favor, my phone deleted ALL of my contacts and my email app AND texts! It’s one thing to be consumed by your phone constantly, but it’s another when you have notes, networking partners and opportunities saved in those threads. I was able to cope with my laptop giving out but seriously, my phone?! I learned to never trust technology for good and go back to pen and paper.

So, why should I keep blogging right? Having to ask people to borrow their computer or resources just to get a blog posted was pointless to me. I saw everyone I looked up to pursuing new business endeavors, creative teams and traveling together. Why wasn’t this happening for me? I felt all alone to be completely honest. But then I realized my peace, joy and ultimate happiness was more important first before I begin juggling my brand.  After that, I began organizing myself, setting out to network with individuals with the same mindset mentally and spiritually as myself.

Grey Felt Journal TO DO LIST on a white desk

Cause ya’ll, I have a hard time with people…like forreal. Sometimes they have me looking like before I lose my salvation.

Low and behold, that is when I officially met Jayla White. I reached out to her after the pull was so strong and I’m glad I connected with her. She was so honest and true to her word with direction and a plan in order. I have really been praying for the right people to come into my life and I tell you I’m still being shown that God has my back. In the midst of everything going on in my life, I still receive a glimpse of sunshine.

If you’ve ever been in a dark space or questioning things in your life, hear me out…Pray, fast, and talk to someone.

Don’t allow your pain to be sheltered and keep you from breathing. The whole reason I wanted to give up was all because I couldn’t breathe. It seems so easy to allow your life to just go the way it’s going, but there comes a time where you need to fight. A time where you need to remember that you should be refreshed renewed and rejuvenated with Christ as the center of your life over the material things you want to gain.

Don’t give up! The fight is meant for you to win.

Come back next time because I have a complete revamp of my site, content and partnerships headed your way.

Until then xoxo

Glo Up Baby

Good morning my  loves and lovelies! Today is a “special” day so to say because I have an amazing gem to drop on you guys from The Glo Up Event.

This isn’t exactly a recap post, but more so a reflection of what I took away from the panelist discussions and inspiration I gained during this day.

Instead of me going on and on, let’s go ahead and get down to the details shall we? 💕

The Glo Up Event was hosted by the hard working woman herself, Danielle Richardson!

Check out a little of  her background below:

“Fusing together her experience with media, her passion for writing, and the natural ability to consult and connect people with resources, Media Consultant and Founder, Danielle C. Richardson launched Premier Vision PR in October 2013. In February 2016 she changed the name to “Premier Vision Media”.

Prior to establishing Premier Vision Media, Danielle hosted the Juice Radio podcast for over 5 years, contributed to several publications as a freelance writer and has handled media campaigns for clients before the official launching of her own consultancy. With a diverse range of clients, Danielle has the skill, experience, talent and dedication to create the much needed buzz for your brand.

Originally from Queens New York, Danielle graduated from Georgia State University with a B.A. in Arts & Science. She later received an Undergraduate Certificate in Marketing from the University of Phoenix. She currently resides in Atlanta, GA with her husband and two sons. A self proclaimed foodie and hip hop head! She enjoys traveling, volunteering, reading, writing, the theater, music and spending time with friends and family!”

Now that is impressive!

This event was held at the HJC Bowden Center in East Point, GA where creatives and entrepreneurs gathered on one accord.

It was a very intimate and quaint group to be very honest. I personally believe it was juuusssstt right because everyone was able to talk to the panelists and guests one on one. You know, it wasn’t like trying to surf through a crowd to get to that ONE person you felt so in tune with. The setting was great, the vibe was super chill and perfect for a Saturday afternoon.

The vendors varied from all sorts too. I literally started from the authors table next jewelry to the beauty products, the clothing boutique and henna! I definitely snagged me a henna and a beauty product too.

Fast forward to the panelists…

My goodness were they awesome! We had a full hour or so dedicated to hearing from each on of them in detail. The discussion began with their backgrounds, next getting the tea on some industry pros and cons, and how to be a boss in your brand. PLUS SO MUCH MORE!

Here’s the line up:

Tanisha Mackin

Dominique Mikell

Shonda Brown Wright

Jessica Grace

Kimberly Smedley

Each and every one of these ladys’ stories really helped me gauge a lot of things I sit and contemplate on but never follow through with.

Shonda spoke passionately about marriage, relationships and dating. My goodness was she on fire. It’s one thing to be married or wanting to be, but it’s another thing when you are a millennial in either of those categories. Shonda is also the mastermind behind “Don’t Be A Wife To A Boyfriend.”

Tanisha had a powerful testimony about the trials and tribulations she endured throughout her life and yet she is still standing strong. If words could suffice to tell her story I would write it, but you have to hear it from the conqueror herself. You can also purchase her book by clicking her name above.

Dominique is just as amazing as can be. I was able to understand her personally throughout the discussion about finding your purpose. Sometimes you may know what your purpose is, or it comes to you and sometimes you are still searching. All in all, Dominique is an amazing wig maker who followed a passion that was out of the norm of tradition and with her talent, she is steadily walking further into her purpose.

Jessica Grace spoke on being a Christian, raised in the church and in the entertainment industry. She shared her experiences and really brought a different light to the idealogies of being a Christian in an industry that can be a back and forth battle. This amazing woman stands strong in who she is and it is very apparent her faith is an unwavering one as she continues to break down barriers.

Lastly, Kimberly has a HUGE story behind the world of cosmetic surgeries and what you don’t know. My goodness, she was transparent and knowledgeable about everything she spoke on. She is the writer of “The Backside of the Story” and tells all from her personal experiences. Click her name above to purchase.

You all should definitely take the time to learn these amazing women and their story. I’m sure it will push you to keep going further with your passion and business.

Fashion Friday – Burlington Style

Hiiii my fashion friendly loves!

So, I made a post on my social media all hype about things I wanted to incorporate throughout my posts and now, the moment is here!

I’m finally crossing my love for fashion off my bucket list and adding more to the blog collection. 😍

Yep, you read that right. I’m showing off outfits for all the curvy SHORT women out there.

Here’s a little background…

I was NOT always confident in my own skin. There were so many days where I “wanted” to do a fashion shoot but nervous as to how I would look.

I mean, I struggled after I gained stress weight. Like I struggled BAD. But in the midst of it all, I had a moment where I stood in the mirror, spoke LIFE into myself and began to regain my confidence. Not only that, I now know how to love the skin I’m in.

So real quick, let me get to the point!

I found this cute dress at Burlington Coat Factory for like $8.00 on clearance IN MY SIZE. This was a gift from the hubby for our anniversary and I snagged the shoes for $10.00! 😱😱😱 My earrings were from a previous purchase, and with the dress speaking for itself, I decided to keep the accessories toned down.

And look, I’m always down for a comfy dress, cushioned heels and a perfect setting.

So speaking of the setting, my photographer Alana M. was so dedicated to getting some dope shots wherever she could find and I was not disappointed.

This girl is so talented behind the lens that  she becomes that friend that will go all out for you! Seriously, on the ground, doing handstands and all that to make sure YOU look good. On top of it all, we went to this cute ice cream shop and had a sugary sweet birthday cake waffle cone to add to the fun.

Check her out and follow her IG below:

Check out these amazing snap shots below, and happy Friday! I’ll be back with more goodies and a huge surprise for another clothing selection. ❤️

You guys really don’t want to miss this spectacular event!

I’m so honored to be the socialite and photographer for this event I can’t even explain it.

First of all, I was NOT expecting this opportunity to present itself. Second of all, I’ve realized it’s better to let God move as he places people into your life.

All in all I say that because individuals are specifically chosen to be in your life for specific reasons. Whether it is a learning lesson or a seasonal transition, remain thankful for the opportunity. I’ve been so blessed with people who pour into and continue to use my services it is such a shocker each time. I strive to keep my heart clear and personality happy so whatever energy I give off others can receive.

In conclusion, make sure you are in the building! This will be the start of a life long adventure. Snag those tickets, share it with your friends and promote the heck out of this!

To add, we are 97 days away!

Tinzley Bradford Recognition 10th Annual Heroine and Hero Luncheon

Hello Hello Hello!

I am back but today, it is not about me. This post has everything to do with…

Who: Tinzley Bradford

What: Recognition at the 10th Annual Heroine and Hero Awards Luncheon by SOCAF (Saving Our Children and Families)

“The “Unsung Heroine Award” is designed to recognize women and men who make a difference in the lives of children, but has not been recognized for their contributions.”

When: April 7, 2018

Where: Villa Christina

Why: Ms. Bradford is a well deserving honoree for all she does within the community and throughout her brand for others.

Creator/Host: DeQuanda Sanders

Let me introduce you to Tinzley Bradford:

After reading her biography, it should be evident as to her selection for being a recipient for this award. (Go Tinzley!)

This event wasn’t only about recognition. It also provided a gateway to release the struggles behind everything. The pain and agony people don’t share, yet they still keep pushing to be great.

The point of it all is not ONLY about being recognized in front of a crowd of people.

It’s about the work, dedication, and “ugliness” behind the masterpiece.

There were individuals who spoke on very challenging topics based on their testimony too. See, when you get recognized for anything you do, most people have no type of insight about your struggles. They only see the outer layer. They see that you’ve gotten to a certain level and the power you carry becomes greater the moment you SHARE YOUR TESTIMONY.

Far too many people keep a closed mouth when they should actually be speaking. Why? I don’t know why honestly. Fear could be a reason, or stubbornness. But, SOMEONE needs to hear YOUR story in order to get through their own trial. You never know what is going on with a person. The moments and engagements leading up to this event took time, effort, and transparency.

Ms. Bradford oozes success, showers love, and never settles. She was that person that had the time, effort, and transparency to offer others to help them through. It’s not easy but when it is all said and done, the blessings follow.

Thank you Tinz for bringing me alongside as your photographer and blogger for such an intimate moment with everyone. You are truly a remarkable lady with a thousand talents. I’m so proud of you!
